Jodie Annis-Brown eager ahead of grand final debut

The 25-year-old hasn't played in a grand final in over a decade, when she won a title in what she thinks was a division three side, and the chance to run out on Saturday at ANZAC Park is one she's not taking for granted despite the team's prolonged success.

"I'm probably just as excited as I am nervous," Annis-Brown.

"I'm very excited because this is all I ever wanted, to get to a first grade grand final.

"Now I'm here and I'm also very nervous against Orange High, they're a great team."

Annis-Brown lined up for Orange City Neweys Drive-Thru last year before making the switch across to the Craig Harvey Mechanical side this season, a move she's loved.

"It's been awesome, I've just learned so much. It's great playing with those girls and we trained with them last year but it's a whole different thing training with them."

"I've appreciated these girls so much and wanted this for a long time and I've finally got the chance to show everybody what I can do."

She knows coming against the Hornets won't be easy, with the goal shooter likely to line up against OHS skipper Tabua Tuinakauvadra.

"You have to be at your best to beat her," Annis-Brown said.

"She's a very good and hard defence and she pushes you."
